The Gobble Wobble: Our Autumn Hike

Please join TAKO on Sunday, November 23rd starting at 11:00
am at Ryersons Woods in Iowa City. Outdoor enthusiast
and TAKO board member Risa Dotson Eicke will be hiking with
kids on the 1 mile loop in Ryersons Woods.
After the hike, stay for a free lunch and kids activities!
This event is FREE and OPEN to the public. Advance registration
is requested, but not required. If you plan to bring a group
of 6 or more, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org;
this will help us to plan for equipment and food preparation.
Remember to dress appropriately
Layers are always a great option for cold weather conditions.
Bring a hat, gloves, and any other items you may need to
be comfortable in the outdoors. You may want to bring a
binoculars and a camera!
Ryersons is located at 2961 Old Highway 218 South
(Oak Crest Hill Road SE). From Iowa City, take Riverside
Drive south, just past the Johnson County Fairgrounds on
the right. From 218, take exit 89.

Embrace Your Geekness Day
Terry Trueblood Recreation Area, Iowa City
Come celebrate Embrace Your Geekness
Day with TAKO. Adults gather your kids, come and embrace
your geeky side with fun, science related activities. Be
prepared to get wet and possible sprayed with bubbles and
washable paint. TAKO will be hosting an event
Saturday, July 12th at the Iowa Citys Terry Trueblood
Recreation Area. To get there take Gilbert Street/Sand Road
south to intersection with McCollister Blvd. Stay tuned
to the website/Facebook for updates and cancellations.
Please bring a squirt gun/water blaster/other
to the event if you have one. Participants should dress
to get wet and muddy. We may be using paint and dyes. Dress
in layers and be prepared for a range of weather conditions.
Bring a hat, work gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect
repellant, drinking water, and any other items you may need
to be comfortable in the outdoors. Participants are encouraged
to bring a digital camera and/or binoculars.
Lunch will be served at 11:30 AM. This event
is FREE and OPEN to the public. Advance registration is
