Join TAKO for our end of the year get outdoors
Events may include:
A nature hike guided by local outdoor enthusiast Risa
Dotson- Eicke. First hike starts at 11:15 AM
Native Americans and the early pioneer settlers toys and
games provided by Chérie Haury-Artz, from the Office
of the State Archaeologist.
Solar observations with amateur astronomer Brian Davis.
Check and see if there are any sun spots !
Make a snow man or snow fort.
We may modify the type of event depending
on if we have snow or not!
TAKO, will be hosting this event Saturday, December 7th
at Ryerson Woods (2961 Old Highway 218 S, Iowa City, just
south of the fairgrounds). To get to the event, take Riverside
Drive South and continue on Oak Crest Hill Road .
Dress in layers and be prepared for a range of weather
conditions. Bring a hat, work gloves, sunglasses, drinking
water, and any other items you may need to be comfortable
in the outdoors. Participants are encouraged to bring
a notebook, digital camera and/or binoculars.
Lunch will be served from 12:00 to 1:00PM. This event
is FREE and OPEN to the public. Advance registration is
requested, but not required for families. Those bringing
six or more people should register to help TAKO plan equipment
